In last week's blog, Eulogies by Aubrey featured four uplifting songs to help those who are grieving during the holiday season. This week, we'll be sharing 10 more beautiful songs with that same goal in mind. Most of the tracks featured include lyrics, and all of them are soothing to the soul. We've picked each of these songs with a) the joy of the Christmas season in mind, and b) with the goal of providing you a little bit of comfort as you continue your grief journey throughout the hustle and bustle of the season. In no particular order, here the songs (see below for audio/video): 1. What Child Is This by Lindsey Stirling 2. O Holy Night by Celine Dion 3. The Lord's Prayer by Andrea Bocelli 4. Thankful by Josh Groban 5. Here With Us by Joy Williams 6. The Scar by Blue October 7. Christmas Canon by Trans Siberian Orchestra 8. One Silent Night by Jaci Velasquez 9. Thanksgiving is officially over and the rush of the holiday season is upon us. As many of us scramble to get all of our Christmas shopping done, plan for parties and other festivities, and celebrate the joy of the season, there are some who are unable to experience that joy. Someone you know may be experiencing a deep loss this holiday season. Or maybe that someone is you. Maybe this will be the first Christmas without your loved one by your side, and you’re not quite sure how to keep your spirits up. Because in the midst of all the hustle and bustle going on around you, you are wondering deep down inside, “How can the world just keep revolving like this?” In response, today we’d like to offer you some encouragement, in the form of Scripture and uplifting songs, to help you get through this holiday season…and it’s perfectly okay if this year, all you manage to do is get through it. Comforting Scripture for the Bereaved The Bible is filled with words of comfort, just for you, as you process your loss this holiday season. Here are just a few verses that we pray will bless you as you read them: It is God Who arms me with strength, and makes my way perfect. Psalm 18:32 The Lord is my strength and my shield; My heart trusted in Him, and I am helped; therefore my heart greatly rejoices, and with my song I will praise Him. Psalm 28:7 The Lord will perfect that which concerns me; Your mercy, O Lord, endures forever; do not forsake the works of Your hands. Psalm 138:8 But those who wait on the Lord will renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint. Isaiah 40:31 I can do all things through Christ Who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13 Uplifting Songs to Help You Make It Through Music can speak where words can't. You Raise Me Up by Josh Groban |
