Thanksgiving is officially over and the rush of the holiday season is upon us. As many of us scramble to get all of our Christmas shopping done, plan for parties and other festivities, and celebrate the joy of the season, there are some who are unable to experience that joy. Someone you know may be experiencing a deep loss this holiday season. Or maybe that someone is you. Maybe this will be the first Christmas without your loved one by your side, and you’re not quite sure how to keep your spirits up. Because in the midst of all the hustle and bustle going on around you, you are wondering deep down inside, “How can the world just keep revolving like this?” In response, today we’d like to offer you some encouragement, in the form of Scripture and uplifting songs, to help you get through this holiday season…and it’s perfectly okay if this year, all you manage to do is get through it. Comforting Scripture for the Bereaved The Bible is filled with words of comfort, just for you, as you process your loss this holiday season. Here are just a few verses that we pray will bless you as you read them: It is God Who arms me with strength, and makes my way perfect. Psalm 18:32 The Lord is my strength and my shield; My heart trusted in Him, and I am helped; therefore my heart greatly rejoices, and with my song I will praise Him. Psalm 28:7 The Lord will perfect that which concerns me; Your mercy, O Lord, endures forever; do not forsake the works of Your hands. Psalm 138:8 But those who wait on the Lord will renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint. Isaiah 40:31 I can do all things through Christ Who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13 Uplifting Songs to Help You Make It Through Music can speak where words can't. You Raise Me Up by Josh Groban |
